Looking to upgrade your phone this month? You’re in luck April 2024 is shaping up to be a blockbuster month for smartphone launches in India, with a bunch of exciting new devices waiting to hit the market.

We are talking about new models, global launches, and even some big names coming to India. So, hold on to your wallets because we’ve got a sneak preview of some of the best smartphones set to hit the market in April.

It’s that time of year again, techies! Up to eight of the world’s biggest brands are preparing to launch their newest products in April. From the top-tier brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, Redmi, etc. to the up-and-coming brands like Realme, iQOO, etc., the competition is fierce and each brand is promising something different.

OnePlus Nord CE 4

OnePlus Nord CE4 is yet to be officially launched but the company’s teaser campaign has provided so much information about the device that there isn’t much we don’t already know about it, except for the price (which a recent leak has put at Rs. 24,999 on the base model).

100W fast wired charging will be supported on the phone, that much is now clear. We always believed that based on the claims made by OnePlus that this will be the quickest charging Nord in history, but now it’s a fact.

Apart from that, the other notable features of the device are: A 120 Hz Full HD+ (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED display, 8 GB of RAM, Up to 256 GB of storage, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

According to a recent leak, the specifications include a 6.7″ screen, 128GB entry-level storage, and a 5,500mAh battery. The camera specifications are as follows:

  • 50 MP main sensor (Sony Lytia)
  • 8MP ultrawide sensor (Sony IMX355)
  • 16MP selfie shooter

Realme 12X 5G

The Realme 12 series isn’t finished yet. Last week in India, the brand launched two new models in the Realme range, the Realme 12 (5G) and Realme 12+ (5G), and now, a new model has been made available online.

Realme 12x5G has been certified by BIS, Bluetooth SIG, TUV, EEC, etc. The camera FV-5 has also been updated with Realme’s 12x 5G, revealing some important camera details.

Here are a few camera details about the Realme 12x that have been revealed by the camera fv-5 certification. A 50MP rear camera would have an equivalent focal length of 28mm and an f/ 1.8 aperture. On the front, it could have a focal length of 26mm with an F/2.0.

Realme 12x5G will be the successor to Realme 11x5G, which was released in 2021. It comes with MediaTek Dimension 6100+ Processor and 120Hz LCD Display.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro

Motorola Edge 40 Pro is a new smartphone that will be launched by Motorola in the Indian market. The smartphone was first teased by the brand last month and now the company has confirmed that the smartphone will be made available on April 3 in India.

Pro Features: The device is equipped with a single 2.63GHz KRYP 15 Prime core, three KRYP 15 Gold cores, and four KRYP15 Gold cores. The Kyro 510 Silver has a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 is included with the processor, which allows for Wi-Fi 6 / 6E, Bluetooth 5.3.

In addition to this, it will also come with the following specifications: 6.7-Inch POLED Curved Display with 1.5K Resolution and 144Hz Refresh Rate, The display will use Pantone-approved colors, offering a broad color spectrum and true to life colors, including natural skin tones.

Finally, as far as the hardware is concerned, the phone is said to come with a 50MP auto focus selfie camera. On the back, there will be an f/ 1.4 camera, which the company claims is the thinnest camera in its category.

This will result in a wider lens aperture that allows more light to pass through to the camera, making it perfect for portrait style shots where the subject is the focal point and the background falls into the middle of the frame.

According to the brand, the device will have a metal frame and a vegan leather back made of silicone. According to the brand, the device will run on Android 14 and will get 3 major Android updates. This means that the device will get Android OS updates up to Android 17. And last but not least, the brand launched 50W Fast Charging.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G

As for the Samsung Galaxy M55, the company went ahead and launched it in Brazil. Most of the time, Galaxy M-series devices have the same specs as their A-level counterparts, but not this time. The M55 has a few differences from its A-level counterpart, such as a bigger display, a different chipset, and faster charging.

The Galaxy M55 is powered by an octa-core processor and comes with an FHD+ screen resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a Super AMOLED+ screen size of 6.7 inches. Up to 1,000nits peak brightness Optical under-display fingerprint sensor Punch-hole cutout front-facing camera (50MP)

On the back, we have a 50MP full-frame main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) along with an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and 2MP macro camera. The Galaxy M55 comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, both of which are expandable via microSD card slots. It is powered by the latest generation of Qualcomm chipsets (Snapdragon 7 Gen 1).

The phone will boot on One UI version 6.1, which is based on the Android 14 operating system. The phone is backed by 4 Android updates, and 5 years security patches.
